About Levamisole Tablets

USES: This medication stimulates the body's immune system to help treat and protect against illness. It is used in combination with other medications in the treatment of colon cancer.

HOW TO USE: Take this medication exactly as prescribed. Do not increase your dose or take it more often. Your condition will not improve faster by taking more medication, but side effects will be increased. This medication may be taken with food or milk to minimize nausea.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication causes nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth sores, loss of appetite, stomach pain, change in taste and smell, muscle aches, fatigue, dizziness, headache and skin rash. Notify your doctor if these symptoms become bothersome. Notify your doctor if you develop: flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, weakness, sore throat). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Avoid use of alcohol and alcohol containing products while taking this medication. Severe stomach upset, flushing and headache can occur. This drug is not recommended for use in pregnant or nursing women or in children.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Inform your doctor about all the medicines you use (both prescription and nonprescription). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly.
